Worked great. I did have to log out and back into my Facebook app on the iPod Touch in order to get it to take. It now defaults to Status Update. However the shortcut icon on the launch page still reads NewsFeed. Hopefully FB will update the app to allow you to add shortcuts to each category right from the launch page. Thanks for the tip.
